Aviation experts say the aviation market is recovering quickly after the global pandemic, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. Yuli Thompson, Regional Manager of the International Southeast Asian Air Transport Association, pointed out that by June 2023, passenger traffic on international flights has reached 75% of 2019 levels. Forecasts show that domestic travel in the Asia-Pacific region will fully recover this year, and international travel may recover around 2026. The Asia-Pacific region will play a key role in passenger traffic growth over the next 20 years.

To achieve full recovery, the aviation industry needs the cooperation of all players. Lei Apostol, vice president of Cebu Pacific Air, said operations can be optimized by encouraging travel through positive customer experiences. Cebu Pacific founder Michael Szucs stressed the need for infrastructure investments to meet growing demand, especially in the Philippines. Transportation Secretary Jaime Batista stressed the importance of rehabilitating the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and supporting the use of sustainable aviation fuel.
