Agritech solutions receive P100 million funding from NEDA

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) National Innovation Council Executive Technical Committee has approved four agricultural technology solutions to receive funding under the 2023 Innovation Grant. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a statement that the NEDA-led Innovation Council will provide grant financing totaling P1 billion for 25 innovation projects.

Among the 25 projects are four agricultural technology solutions, including “Artificial Intelligence for Impact-Based Prediction and Warning Systems to Achieve Financial Inclusion and Strengthen Local Economic Development in Rice” proposed by the Philippine Rice Research Institute, and the Western Mindanao “Alternative Onion Storage System Using Controlled Temperature and Automatic Air Flow Mechanism” at Los Angeles State College.

In addition, Samar State University’s “GeoMap Project: Geospatial Mapping and Information System for Precision Agriculture and Smart Agriculture” will also receive funding, and finally Eastern Visayas State University’s “TABU: Agricultural e-commerce tool in Eastern Visayas” “Mobile App” is also included in the list of grantees.

The PCO said the 2023 Innovation Grant Program aims to promote local innovation in national development and sustainable economic growth, covering projects in various fields.
