Taiwan Himax Optoelectronics’ net revenue in the third quarter of 2023 was US$2.385 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.5% and a year-on-year increase of 11.6%. Strong automotive product and TDDI chip sales drove growth, with third-quarter profit reaching $11.2 million. Gross margin increased to 31.4% from 21.7% in the prior quarter, reflecting favorable product mix and growth in the automotive business.
Auto sales account for nearly 45% of total revenue. Smartphone and tablet driver sales declined, while sales of small and medium-sized driver ICs increased by 7.2% month-on-month. For the fourth quarter of 2023, Qijing expects revenue to decline by 5-11% quarter-on-quarter, and gross profit margin guidance is around 30%. Company President and CEO Wu Qiaodan said that Himax Optoelectronics has sustainable long-term revenue growth and profitability.
