Member airlines of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) have agreed to use 5% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in aircraft fuel by 2030.

AAPA Director General said this collective goal emphasizes the need for SAF, prompting governments to support SAF supply and pushing fuel producers to expand production capacity. Member airlines include Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, etc. AAPA calls on the world to work together to promote the aviation industry’s transition to renewable energy and achieve the goal of carbon neutrality. It is recommended that a global accounting framework be established to ensure that airlines accurately account for emissions reductions.

AAPA member airlines are also committed to working with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and relevant national regulators to strengthen aviation safety culture in the Asia-Pacific region.
