Google helped Malaysia create US$2.8 billion in economic benefits in 2022

On November 16, Putrajaya and Google today announced a strategic collaboration to create inclusive growth opportunities for more Malaysians and local companies in the rapidly growing digital economy.

Google said in a statement in San Francisco today that the partnership brings together the two companies to help businesses of all sizes improve through skills programs, investments in digital infrastructure, responsible artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and cloud-first policies. Digital competitiveness.

“This latest commitment from Google aims to accelerate local innovation and talent development in the field of artificial intelligence and will surely enhance the country’s digital competitiveness, in line with the Madani Economic Framework and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030),” said Prime Minister An. Google said the latest move builds on investments in Malaysia over the past 12 years.

Last year alone, the company’s products and programs supported more than 47,900 jobs and contributed approximately US$2.8 billion (RM13.18 billion) in direct and indirect economic benefits to local businesses.

To provide more digital training opportunities to Malaysians from diverse backgrounds, Google Cloud, CloudMile and Trainocate are offering five digital learning paths for free.
