According to data from market research company Counterpoint Research on November 23, as of October, driven by the recovery of emerging markets, monthly sales of the global smartphone market increased by 5% compared with the same period last year. This marks the first monthly sales increase since June 2021.

The increase in sales was attributed to new product launches, including Apple’s iPhone 15 series and Huawei’s latest Mate 60 Pro smartphones, which boosted demand, especially in emerging markets.

Amid this competitive scenario, Samsung Electronics maintained its global leadership position with a 20% market share in the third quarter of this year, followed by Apple with 16%. Xiaomi (12%), Oppo (10%) and Vivo (8%) follow.
