Philippines’ ACEN Corp. said it could soon achieve its 5,000-megawatt renewable energy capacity target with the completion of projects.

Eric T. Francia, the company’s president and chief executive officer, said the current installed capacity is close to 4,500 megawatts, excluding wind projects recently won in green energy auctions. He pointed out that the new capacity does not include 335 MW of onshore wind power projects in Laguna and Quezon provinces.

ACEN currently has approximately 4,430 MW of equity capacity in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Australia. Achieving the 5,000 MW target is “just around the corner”, but the specific time has not yet been determined.
