Foxconn Technology plans to invest more than $1.5 billion in India to build a project that meets operational needs. The investment was made by its subsidiary, Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development Company, with the goal of bridging its dependence on Chinese supply chains.

Foxconn, faced with the challenge of Chinese dependence, has announced several Indian projects to ensure supply chain security, including a $600 million project in Karnataka and a $500 million Telangana plant.

The move is in line with Apple’s strong demand for high-end products while helping India become an important hub for electronics manufacturing and semiconductor production.
