The Philippines and the UAE agreed to build data centers

The Philippines and the UAE signed a memorandum of understanding to build data centers with a capacity of 500 megawatts in both countries to strengthen digital infrastructure cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the agreement will strengthen the alliance between the two sides in the development of digital infrastructure, promote investment in 500 megawatt data centers and share technical knowledge on digital infrastructure. The partnership aims to advance the development of the Philippines in the global digital economy and promote the growth of the digital ecosystem.

Economic and trade relations between the two countries also increased by 19.4% in the first half of 2023 to US$506.1 million, and the memorandum of understanding helps to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
