According to the “Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) 2021 Game Industry Report”, my country’s game development market is expected to reach RM1.5 billion in 2024, while the global electronic game market will reach US$300 billion in 2029.
The report also revealed that the number of electronic game players in Malaysia will increase to 20 million in 2024, with mobile games accounting for 60% of the entire market.
Video games are expected to have a compound annual growth rate of 7%, which will definitely surpass other forms of entertainment and take the lead compared to movies, streaming and music. From this point of view, the market demand for game production, development skills and creative talents is naturally rising year by year.
