Toyota plans to expand its European battery electric vehicle (BEV) range to six models by 2026. The company revealed two new concept vehicles, including an urban SUV that is about to go into production and a sports crossover that it plans to launch in Europe in 2025.

Currently, Toyota’s only all-electric model sold globally is the bZ4X. Its new urban SUV concept will be available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive options and feature two-tier battery technology, including economical and longer-range batteries.

Toyota also plans to launch the next generation of batteries after 2026, and is developing solid-state batteries, which are expected to be commercialized in 2027-2028 and achieve the goal of charging 10%-80% in 10 minutes.
