Nvidia plans to build chip factory network in Japan

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced that he will cooperate with Japanese companies to establish a network of semiconductor factories in Japan to meet the demand for AI-driven graphics chips.

Huang Renxun said that Japan has unique AI technical expertise and industrial capabilities, and NVIDIA will support the cultivation of more local AI startups.

Nvidia’s graphics chips are popular for training AI services, and prices have soared. The Japanese government is working to attract investment in cutting-edge semiconductor production and has funded TSMC and local startups.

According to reports, Huang Renxun met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and said that the current demand for Nvidia graphics chips is very high, but the Japanese market will be given priority.
