Indonesia and Sweden are collaborating on the development of wave power plant projects

Jakarta signed a memorandum of understanding with Sweden to build a wave power plant in eastern Indonesia. The collaboration was signed by PLN Nusantara Power and Waves4Power on December 8 to set up a pilot project in East Nusa Tenggara province.

Sweden’s trade commissioner in Indonesia, Erik Odar, said the memorandum of understanding involves the preparation of a pilot technology installation for wave energy, which is scheduled to be launched in 2024.

The Indonesia-Sweden Partnership for Sustainable Development (SISP) also signed four memoranda of understanding in the fields of transport, energy, health, and mining.

Swedish Ambassador Daniel Blockert stressed that a strong partnership between Indonesia and Sweden is essential to achieving a sustainable future.
