Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said US technology company Nvidia believes Malaysia has what it takes to become an artificial intelligence (AI) hub. NVIDIA is willing to support Malaysia in becoming one of the top 20 AI countries in the world, and plans to establish a center of excellence to promote AI learning and research, create an AI ecosystem, and help Malaysia develop a local AI cloud computing system.

The investment is seen as a sign that foreign investors, especially global technology giants, will continue to favor Malaysia as a preferred investment destination. NVIDIA will establish a strategic partnership with YTL Corporation to jointly invest RM20 billion to promote the development of supercomputers and AI cloud systems in Malaysia.
