Toyota Motor Philippines Inc. (TMP) has signed a retail supply contract with Team Energy Corporation to see that 90% of TMP’s electricity demand will be supplied by green energy starting December 26, 2023.
Combined with existing solar energy systems, the new energy enables the company to achieve a 100% renewable energy ratio, driving towards the goal of carbon neutrality. TMP’s president said it was an important milestone that would neutralize CO2 emissions generated by the purchase of electricity from manufacturing operations.
TMP is committed to transforming manufacturing facilities into carbon-neutral facilities by 2035 and driving the decarbonization of supply chains, logistics and dealer networks. Other Toyota partners have also joined the ranks of carbon-neutral operations.
