SP New Energy Corporation (SPNEC) announced the launch of the world’s largest solar energy project in the Philippines, which will be managed by its subsidiary Terra Solar Philippines, Inc. The project involves 3,500 hectares of land and will see more than 5 million solar panels installed, with the goal of having 3,400 megawatts of solar panels and 4,000 megawatt hours of battery storage.

SPNEC plans to deliver the first phase in the first quarter of 2026. The project will account for 5% of the total power generation and 12% of the total demand of the Philippine power grid, with a cost of approximately 200 billion pesos. When completed, it will surpass India’s Bhadla Solar Park and China’s Golmud Solar Park to become the world’s largest solar farm.
