ASML chip machines blocked from export to China

Dutch semiconductor company ASML has banned the export of cutting-edge chip manufacturing equipment to China due to US strategic pressure. The ASML statement pointed out that the Dutch government revoked the export license of the machine, affecting a small number of customers in China.

Western countries view semiconductors as a geopolitical battlefield due to concerns that they could be used in advanced weapons, and the United States last year announced stricter export restrictions on advanced artificial intelligence chips.

ASML said the export restrictions would have no material impact on its financial outlook, but the company’s shares fell 1.6%. China’s Foreign Ministry criticized the United States’ bullying behavior and warned that the United States will inevitably suffer the consequences.
