Alibaba’s e-commerce company Lazada has laid off employees in its Singapore office, involving employees at different levels in multiple departments, including e-commerce and marketing departments. The affected employees received an email on January 2 and met with the company’s human resources department on January 3.
A Lazada spokesperson said that the company is actively adjusting its work team to adapt to future business needs, emphasizing that this is for a more flexible and streamlined work style. The company did not disclose details such as the number of layoffs and compensation.
