Jon Peddie Research (JPR) reports that the graphics add-on board (AIB) or graphics card market shipments increased significantly by 37.4% in the third quarter of 2023, reaching 8.9 million units, a 15.4% month-on-month increase.

NVIDIA continues to lead the market, with a market share of 81.5%, while AMD increased by 7%. Intel entered the AIB market but did not significantly affect its share.

JPR analysts pointed to industry trends and simplification of distribution channels as major factors for growth, but predicted that the launch of new graphics card series may cause sales to slow down.

This is the most important growth period for the AIB market since 2000, indicating that the IT display business is shifting to more OLED.
