Sony will not display TVs at CES 2024, instead focusing on promoting its upcoming MiniLED LCD TV technology. This technology upgrade will improve light control and efficiency, reducing MiniLED system power consumption by 10-15% by increasing the dimming area.

The 2024 prototype is better than the 2023 model in light control and detail, surpassing OLED TVs, and is expected to reach a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. Sony’s MiniLED system uses the smallest proprietary driver chip to optimize LED current to increase efficiency.

This development may affect OLED TV sales, making MiniLED LCD TVs a competitive focus in 2024.
