According to people familiar with the matter, Nvidia plans to mass-produce the H20 artificial intelligence chip designed for China starting in the second quarter of this year. The chip is the most powerful of the three chips developed for the Chinese market after the U.S. government issued a new ban last year.
Nvidia also plans to launch L20 and L2 chips that comply with the new restrictions, but has not yet announced sales plans. Worried that the United States may tighten restrictions again, Chinese companies have turned to testing domestic alternatives, such as Baidu buying AI chips from Huawei.
