Rabbit Inc. has released the Rabbit R1, a retro-looking dedicated AI companion device designed to simplify tasks. R1 acts as a bridge between the user and the smartphone, learning and performing complex tasks rather than replacing the phone.

Although not a smartphone, the R1 is powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 processor and supports phone calls, WiFi and cellular connections. The device has built-in Rabbit OS, which is based on a large-scale action model and is connected to the service to execute requests. Users can authorize R1 representatives to perform tasks.

The R1 sells for $199 and has already sold out of two batches, indicating there’s already strong interest in the AI companion device. Rabbit R1 is expected to start shipping in March and may lead a new round of AI-based device innovation.
