Deep Green plans to use waste heat from data centers to heat 100-150 swimming pools, and it recently received significant funding to support the project.

The London startup installs small data centers in energy-intensive locations such as leisure centers, converting waste computer heat into hot water and using cold water to cool cloud servers. Compared with traditional server rooms, Deep Green’s small data centers have a competitive advantage in cooling, reducing energy consumption.

The company makes money by selling this energy-efficient computing space and currently hopes to expand the technology to 150 swimming pools across the country. Deep Green, which has received a £200 million investment, plans to apply its green computing space to district heating networks.
