Renault Group announced sales of 2.2 million vehicles last year, up 9% year-on-year, ending a four-year decline.

The increase was mainly due to strong sales growth in Europe under the three core brands Renault, Dacia and Alpine, with Alpine leading the way by 22%. Renault’s market share in Europe has risen to second place from fifth place in 2022 and plans to launch 10 new models by 2024.

In December, Renault announced that it would sell part of its stake to Nissan to rebalance the alliance. The move is a response to the French government’s increase in Renault’s stake and former leader Ghosn’s financial misconduct. At the same time, Nissan took a stake in Renault’s new electric vehicle division, Ampere.
