South Korean aerospace parts supplier KP Aero Industries plans to invest $200 million by 2028 to assemble components for Boeing 787 and 737 aircraft and expand Boeing’s manufacturing network in Southeast Asia. Boeing already has seven “Tier 2” suppliers in Vietnam.

KP Aero’s decision is part of a preliminary agreement between Boeing and Vietnam Airlines for the sale of 50 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. Officials from the Vietnamese city of Da Nang said KP Aero would invest in the city’s high-tech industrial park.
