Swiss startup ClearSpace has partnered with American Orbit Fab to launch a space orbital refueling service project, aiming to make space exploration sustainable.

It is planned that ClearSpace’s spacecraft will be combined with Orbit Fab’s fuel depot to provide fresh fuel to satellites to extend their operational life, while also providing fuel for unused satellites to prevent them from becoming space junk. This move not only diversifies services for ClearSpace, but also expands Orbit Fab’s fuel distribution services.

The companies said the project will benefit the space economy and beyond, meeting the needs of governments and commercial operators to improve mission return on investment.
