Cybersecurity researcher Bob Dyachenko and the Cybernews team revealed that there are about 26 billion pieces of data in the “mother of all data breaches” (MOABs) on the Internet, including Tencent, Weibo, MySpace, Twitter, Wattpad, NetEase and many other companies, of which Tencent leaked as many as 1.5 billion pieces of data.

MOABs also contain data breaches from government agencies in multiple countries. Researchers say much of the data is classified as sensitive and can be misused by irresponsible individuals.

Users can improve security with strong passwords, two-factor authentication, authenticator apps, and check if affected with Have I Been Pwned or Cybernews, and update passwords and enable other security features if so.
