Japan Airlines (JAL) released its net profit report for the first nine months as of the end of December last year. Affected by the surge in demand after the new crown epidemic, net profit increased at least five times compared with the same period in 2022, reaching 85.87 billion yen.

The company pointed out that during the past three quarters, revenue increased significantly by 24.2%, reaching 1.25 trillion yen, of which international flight business increased by 64.3%, and domestic flights also increased by 25.9%. JAL reiterated that it will maintain its profit forecast for the fiscal year through the end of March.

Despite the machine friction accident last month, the company expects net profit to increase 2.3 times to 80 billion yen in fiscal year 2023, with revenue estimated at 1.68 trillion yen, an increase of 22.4%.
