Philippine exporters are encouraged to expand trade with India, especially in the fields of food, machinery and electronic equipment, where demand is expected to reach $560 million this year.

India has been described as a “very promising market” with demand for locally manufactured machinery and electronic equipment estimated at $4.37 billion. The Philippines also encourages exports of personal care, beauty products, gardening, services and franchising.

The government promotes local companies to export processed food to India, believing that food is a potential market because busy Indians have strong demand for purchased food. Export officials also encouraged expansion of the Indian market for personal care and beauty products, as well as horticulture products, among others.
