According to reports, Apple plans to launch a chip based on TSMC’s 2-nanometer process in 2025, which may debut in the iPhone 17 series.

TSMC has begun designing 2-nanometer chips, which means Apple’s future chips will use this process. Apple and TSMC have a long-term cooperation, and the current M3 chip uses a 3-nanometer architecture. The cooperation is expected to extend to 2025 and involve 2-nanometer chips. Smaller nanometers mean smaller transistors, improving performance and power efficiency.

TSMC plans to launch 2-nanometer chips in the second half of 2025 and start producing 1.4-nanometer chips in 2027. Apple may become the first company to adopt these advanced processes.
