BYD plans to launch a series of new models in the Japanese market and expand its distribution network. Despite becoming the world’s best-selling electric car maker, it still faces challenges in the Japanese market.

BYD currently has 51 branches in Japan, including 22 dealerships during the period, and plans to increase to 100 by the end of 2025. Its latest electric SUV Atto 3 is priced at 4.5 million yen and has a cruising range of 470 kilometers.

Japan’s resistance to battery electric vehicles and foreign brands is one of the main challenges, but BYD will continue to expand its presence in the Japanese market.
