The Omdia report shows that shipments of in-car touch TFT LCD displays continue to grow and will reach 26.2 million units in 2023, accounting for 35.1% of the market share. It is expected to exceed 50% by 2025.
This growth is driven by simplified supply chains, ample production capacity and the trend of smart cockpits in vehicles. The demand for large-size displays is also increasing, especially those exceeding 10 inches.
Omdia’s research manager pointed out that as the smartphone and tablet markets mature, the automotive industry will become a new focus for panel manufacturers.
Total shipments of touch displays for automotive applications will reach 74.6 million units in 2023, and the shift to in-cell TFT LCD displays is expected to continue.
