Industrial design company Layer has partnered with Deutsche Telekom to develop a range of smart home assistants, which were first showcased at last month’s Mobile World Congress. These include a holographic center and a mobile personal robot named Emma.

The holographic center can assist with daily tasks, control appliances and home conditions, and make holographic video calls. Concept Buddy is a small roaming robot known as a “friendly butler” that monitors room conditions and adjusts the environment. It also comes with a built-in projector to display information on the wall.

The devices are currently prototypes and not yet commercially available, but they demonstrate the potential for future smart homes.
