The AI craze has driven major manufacturers such as Apple, Nvidia, and Advanced Micro Devices to place orders with TSMC to pursue 3-nanometer process technology.

According to Korean media reports, TSMC may occupy close to 100% of the AI chip production market. Last year, the price of 3-nanometer chips was as high as US$20,000 per piece, and demand was relatively small. But this year, driven by AI demand, mobile device and server companies are rushing to order.

Manufacturers such as Nvidia plan to launch the first batch of 3-nanometer chips this year, and TSMC is also expanding production capacity to meet demand. Despite facing capacity issues, TSMC remains the leader in the global foundry market, and its largest customer is still Apple.

Compared with Samsung Electronics, TSMC’s foundry market share continues to expand.
