According to data from the international data company IDC, the traditional PC market in the Asia-Pacific region will decline by 16.1% in 2023, totaling 97.4 million units. The market is not expected to rebound significantly in 2024.

The consumer PC market fell by 17.4%, and the commercial PC market fell by 14.8%, affected by inflation and reduced IT spending.

PC shipments are expected to grow slightly to 97.8 million units in 2024, with China’s economic recovery and Japan’s PC replacement demand driving growth.

IDC warned that although new technologies such as device-side artificial intelligence and a rebound in demand may bring about a 7.9% growth, businesses and users may be more cautious about updating devices amid economic uncertainty.
