US media reported that TSMC controls 90% of the world’s cutting-edge chip market share and has set up factories in the United States, Japan and Germany to meet demand and supply nearby.

However, the surge in demand for AI chips has led to a shortage of semiconductor talent, which has delayed the construction of U.S. factories. Ho Limei, vice president of human resources, said talent shortage is one of the company’s main challenges.

The factory expansion plan includes the opening of a new factory in Japan and the establishment of factories in the United States and Germany. The talent shortage is a concern for Stewart Randall, director of consultancy Intralink.

Ho Limei stressed that companies must adapt to the cultures of different countries and emphasized that Taiwan will remain the core of the semiconductor field.
