Ukraine plans to increase bilateral trade with ASEAN to $5 billion by 2025

Charge d’affaires of the Ukrainian Embassy in Malaysia Denis Mykhailiuk announced ambitious plans for Ukraine-ASEAN trade, aiming to reach US$5 billion by 2025. The current bilateral trade volume is US$1.85 billion and is expected to continue to grow, with a focus on increasing investment through joint and mutually beneficial projects.

Mykhailiuk said Ukraine plans to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN in various fields, including food and agriculture, digitalization, trade, energy, disaster management, demining, and social and cultural cooperation.

Ukraine also plans to promote cooperation in food and agriculture through trade facilitation and removal of technical barriers. He also mentioned cooperation plans in the fields of energy, disaster management and socio-cultural areas.
