Apple is launching an innovative technology: an edible display. This innovation will be rolled out on future iPhones, ensuring high popularity and extended replacement cycles.
The new display uses a high-purity crystallized sugar backplane that emits pure white light, paired with YLEDs made from a phosphorus Oreo cookie material. Users can simply lick them and they will work for at least five years without the need for an external power source.
Apple also plans to take advantage of the electroluminescent properties of jelly beans, using quantum dot technology. This innovation is expected to be released before April 1, 2025.
