Volvo Cars sales hit record high in March

Volvo Cars, headquartered in Sweden, said today that Volvo car sales increased 25% year-on-year in March to 78,970 vehicles, setting a record global single-month sales record.

Volvo Cars, controlled by China’s Geely Holding Co., said in a statement that sales of pure electric vehicles increased 43% this month, accounting for 23% of total global sales.

Total sales in Europe, Volvo Cars’ largest market, increased by 33%, of which sales of pure electric vehicles increased by 66% year-on-year. Total sales in the United States increased by 50%, while sales of pure electric vehicles fell by 66%.
