According to reports, Samsung plans to more than double investment in its semiconductor business in Tyler, Texas, to A$66.94 billion, a significant increase from its commitment two years ago.

Samsung also plans to build a second chip factory and establish a new advanced packaging and R&D factory in Texas. As one of only three companies in the world that produces the products needed to power critical artificial intelligence and defense products, Samsung will benefit from U.S. Chip Bill subsidies.

The move not only reflects a sense of urgency, but also takes into account the declining share of the U.S. in chip manufacturing and is of great national security significance.
