Baidu announced that its artificial intelligence chatbot “Ernie Bot” has more than 200 million users, striving to maintain its status as the most popular ChatGPT-like chatbot in China.
CEO Robin Li revealed this new milestone after the chatbot was launched eight months ago. Ernie Bot’s API usage reaches 200 million times per day, and the number of enterprise customers reaches 85,000.
While competitors like the Alibaba-backed Kimi chatbot are growing rapidly, Ernie Bot remains at the forefront.
Globally, China’s generative artificial intelligence services still lag behind their Western counterparts, and OpenAI’s ChatGPT is still the most popular in the world.
