Google may include new features similar to Apple’s SOS feature in its upcoming Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold phones.
The feature will reportedly work with T-Mobile and may be available to other providers. The feature will ask users a series of questions to understand the emergency situation and display animations to help users align their phones with satellites.
Mobile plans to cooperate with SpaceX to provide satellite messaging services. This feature is currently in beta and pricing is yet to be determined.
Last year, Google Messages code hinted that Garmin devices might offer similar functionality, but whoever provided it might not be free.
