TikTok Shop launches second-hand luxury category in UK, competing with The RealReal, Vestiaire Collective and others. This category allows users to purchase second-hand high-end clothing and designer handbags within the TikTok app.
TikTok Shop has sold more than $1 billion in products, and despite its success, some worry about fakes. The platform has adopted an anti-counterfeiting policy and cooperated with companies such as LVMH to combat fakes. All second-hand brands require third-party certification.
The expansion is a strategic move into the multi-billion dollar pre-owned luxury goods market and a step to meet the growing demand for second-hand fashion.
