OpenAI launched the memory feature in February and is now available to paid ChatGPT Plus users outside of Europe and South Korea. Memory allows ChatGPT to better personalize responses, including remembering user preferences and learning conversation content.

Users can control what ChatGPT retains and see when the memory is updated. OpenAI provides several examples of uses of memory, such as summarizing meetings, creating social posts, and lesson plans. The memory feature is not yet available in Europe or South Korea, and OpenAI did not explain it but said it will be available to other users in the future.
