Oppstar Bhd announced that its subsidiary Oppstar Technology Sdn Bhd will cooperate with Samsung Electronics to produce industrial integrated circuits (ICs) using Samsung’s 14nm FinFET technology.
Oppstar is Malaysia’s top custom-designed chip solution provider, focusing on ICs such as CPU, SOC, ASIC and FPGA. The two parties plan to explore future cooperation projects, but did not provide details.
Oppstar CEO Cheah Hun Wah said the collaboration will help its customers launch mass-customized chips and provide manufacturing services for chips made by Samsung.
