The New York Times reported that the U.S. Department of Defense classified DJI as a Chinese military industrial enterprise and prohibited the U.S. military from purchasing its products. The legislation would place DJI on the Federal Communications Commission’s list, restricting its operation on U.S. communications infrastructure.

The Anti-Chinese Drone Act, which has bipartisan support, positions DJI as a national security threat. DJI denied providing critical infrastructure information, saying the new bill would curb its U.S. sales or even ground its existing fleet. Australia is also reviewing DJI operations.
