OpenAI partnered with Common Sense Media, a media rating organization, to develop a “family-friendly” GPT (chatbot app) standard. The goal of the partnership is to gain the trust of parents and policymakers to ensure that AI tools are safe for children and young people.

As part of the collaboration, OpenAI will use Common Sense’s evaluation criteria to develop AI guidelines for GPT applications. The move is OpenAI’s response to regulatory pressure, demonstrating the overall societal benefits of its tools and emphasizing security and transparency.

In addition, OpenAI and Common Sense will participate in a new framework to evaluate the safety, transparency, and ethical use of AI products.
