Google Password Manager adds a new feature that allows users to easily identify accounts that support keys and upgrade to a more secure login method. The feature is available now on Pixel 5a and newer and Pixel tablets, with plans to expand to other platforms.

Google also announced partnerships with companies including Adobe, Best Buy, DocuSign, eBay, Kayak, Money Forward, Nintendo, PayPal, Uber and Yahoo! to enhance the key renewal process.

Keys provide an extra layer of security that is unique to each account and more resistant to phishing attacks, eliminating the need for users to remember complex passwords and allowing them to log in using fingerprint, facial recognition or PIN. Keys are increasingly common across websites and applications, becoming the standard for online authentication.
