Apple conducted an autonomous driving test last year, and public documents show that its test mileage in California has almost quadrupled to 83,900 miles, 30 times the number in 2022.

Apple is only testing self-driving car technology with a safety driver. Although the total number of tests is lower than other companies, it shows its progress in autonomous driving technology.

There have been recent reports that Apple has adjusted its self-driving car plans, slowing down the launch time, shifting more focus on self-driving assistance features, and no longer pursuing a fully self-driving car.

Reports indicate that Apple’s electric car, originally planned to be launched in 2026, will be postponed to 2028.
