SpaceX’s Starlink is about to launch a WiFi 6 router, and it’s unclear whether it will be sold separately or in a bundle.
The device is described as a low-power WLAN device that uses the same wireless bands as other WiFi 6 routers, has two built-in LAN ports, and supports two power adapters.
The market is expected to be dominated by users who have invested in Starlink antennas and satellite connections, but analysts believe it could appeal to the broader consumer market because the Starlink brand is seen as associated with high-end, technologically advanced products.
The router will deliver faster broadband speeds, improve energy efficiency of mobile devices, and reduce bandwidth congestion.
